Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct

Last updated: 5 September 2026  ·  Effective immediately  ·  Version 1.0

These Community Guidelines & Code of Conduct ("Guidelines") are issued by The Formation Club Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17296030, whose registered address is at Venture, Warren Lane, Cross in Hand, East Sussex, TN21 0TB, trading as The Formation ("we", "us", "our").

Welcome to The Formation

The Formation exists because women have always belonged in Formula 1.

Not as spectators on the sidelines. Not as a marketing demographic. But as passionate fans who know the sport, love the sport, and deserve a community built with them in mind.

We are building the world's home for women who love Formula 1, a place to find your people, deepen your connection with the sport, and share unforgettable experiences with others who understand why race weekends matter.

Our community is female-first. Women are at the heart of everything we do. We also welcome those who support our purpose, respect our spirit and respect the community we're building. Every Formation Experience is built around conversation, connection and community. The race is the backdrop. The people are our purpose.

These Community Guidelines exist to protect that culture. They're more than a set of rules, they're a shared commitment to ensuring The Formation remains welcoming, respectful and worthy of the incredible community we're building together.

These Guidelines apply to everyone who joins The Formation, whether you've discovered us through social media, joined as a Formation Member or Formation Club member, attended one of our events, volunteered as part of Formation Crew, or found us through a friend. Being part of this community is a choice, and with that comes a shared responsibility to help protect it.

Where these Guidelines aren't followed, The Formation may issue warnings, remove members from events, suspend or terminate membership, or, where appropriate, involve the relevant authorities. If you see or experience behaviour that concerns you, please let us know by emailing hello@wearetheformation.com.

Female-First Community

The Formation was built for women who love Formula 1.

Women are at the heart of everything we do, because this community exists to ensure every woman who loves the sport has a place to belong.

Formula 1 is at its best when it brings people together. While The Formation is designed around the experiences of women who love Formula 1, everyone who shares our spirit and purpose is welcome.

We simply ask every member to help us protect the culture that makes this community special: one built on respect, kindness, curiosity and genuine connection.

From time to time, we may create experiences or community spaces specifically for women, Formation Club members or other defined groups where this supports the purpose of the community and the experience of our members.

Conduct

Respect

The Formation brings together people with different backgrounds, aesthetics, and points of view. Treat every member with kindness, curiosity and respect. Healthy discussion and different opinions are welcome, but personal attacks, intimidation, harassment or behaviour that makes another member feel unwelcome are not. Harassment, bullying, and emotional abuse have no place here.

Example: Targeting someone with repeated insults about their style, appearance, or choices - in person or in the WhatsApp community (or other platforms, as applicable), whether that person is a part of the community or not - is a violation.

Hate Speech

Dehumanising language or behaviour directed at anyone based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or nationality is strictly prohibited.

Example: Making derogatory comments about a group of people, even framed as humour, creates a hostile environment and is grounds for permanent removal.

Sexual Harassment

Unwelcome sexual conduct of any kind is prohibited. This includes unsolicited messages or images, unwanted physical contact, or making someone feel objectified or unsafe.

Example: Pursuing someone romantically after they've made clear they're not interested, or sending explicit content without consent, is a serious violation.

Violence & Threats

Threatening, promoting, or engaging in physical violence or intimidation is not tolerated. Any verified history of violent or sexual misconduct may also disqualify someone from participating in Formation activities and events.

Example: Threatening another attendee - at the event or afterwards - is grounds for an immediate and permanent ban.

Nudity & Explicit Content

No sexual, explicit, or graphic content is permitted at events or in any Formation channels.

Example: Sharing explicit imagery in the WhatsApp community or making overtly sexual remarks at a dinner disrupts the environment we're working to create.

Child Safety

Any content or behaviour that sexualises or endangers children is strictly banned and will be reported to competent authorities without exception.

Dangerous Organisations

Promoting or associating with violent, extremist, or terrorist groups is prohibited.

Example: Recruiting for or advocating on behalf of a group known for violence or extremism at a Formation event is incompatible with our values and will result in a permanent ban.

Honesty

Be truthful when communicating about The Formation, our members, our events and our partners. Deliberately sharing false or misleading information that damages trust within the community isn't consistent with our values.

Example: Sharing incorrect information about an event location or making false claims about another member damages trust within the community.

Violent or Graphic Content

Sharing graphic imagery involving injury, weapons, or violence through any Formation channel is prohibited.

Commercial Activity

The Formation is not a marketplace: events and community channels are not spaces for selling, promoting, or soliciting products, services, or business opportunities - unless The Formation has explicitly invited it.

Example: Using a Formation experience to pitch your business, hand out flyers, or recruit others into a scheme is a violation, regardless of how legitimate the offer is. This includes promoting businesses, coaching services, networking groups, recruitment opportunities, affiliate schemes or external communities unless you've received prior approval from The Formation.

Misrepresentation & Fraud

Deceptive financial activity of any kind is prohibited. Do not ask other members for money or financial information.

Example: Approaching another attendee with a fake investment opportunity or misrepresenting yourself for financial gain is fraud.

Controlled Substances

The sale or distribution of illegal drugs at any Formation event is strictly prohibited.

Example: Offering or dealing illegal substances at an event will result in immediate removal and a permanent ban.

Spam

Do not send unsolicited promotional messages or bulk content to other members through WhatsApp or any other Formation channel.

Example: Messaging multiple members with business offers or affiliate links is disruptive and not permitted.

Privacy & Content Rights

Photography

Respect that not everyone attends Formation events to appear online. Always ask before taking close-up photographs or videos of another attendee and before sharing identifiable images publicly.

Example: Taking photos at a dinner and posting them publicly without checking with the people in them is a breach of privacy, even if it feels harmless.

The Formation Content

By attending a Formation event, you consent to photography or video captured by the Formation team, which may be used on our platforms and marketing channels. If you'd prefer not to be included, let us know at sign-up or after by email to hello@wearetheformation.com. We will always make sure that you are informed of how we use your personal details and content, and of your rights in relation to our use - this applies to any context in which we invite you to provide your details. We will also ask for your specific consent in any sign-up forms.

For more details on how we process your personal details, including photography and video captured by us or submitted by you on our channels, please take a look at our Privacy Policy.

Member Privacy

Respect the trust of this community. Don't share another member's contact details, photographs, personal information or anything shared in confidence without their explicit permission.

Attendance

Show Up

Register only for events you intend to attend. If you can't make it, cancel in advance. Tickets are not transferable. No-shows for more than two events may result in suspension or a permanent ban - last-minute gaps affect the whole group, especially at limited-space Formation Club settings.

No Uninvited Guests

Your ticket or reservation is for you only. Do not bring a +1 unless the event is explicitly open to it, or we've given you express permission. Doing so may result in removal and a ban from future events.

Reporting

If something happens that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable - before, during, or after a Formation event or within our community spaces - please tell us. We'd always rather hear about a concern early than after it has escalated. We take every report seriously and handle them with discretion. Email hello@wearetheformation.com.

In a physical emergency, please call 112 or 999 (UK).

Protecting Our Community

Our priority will always be protecting the wellbeing, comfort and trust of our members.

Where behaviour falls short of these Guidelines, The Formation may issue warnings, remove members from events, suspend or terminate membership, or permanently remove access to our community. In serious cases, or where required by law, we may also involve the relevant authorities.

The Formation reserves the right to take appropriate action without prior notice where we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect our members, our events or the integrity of the community, and we do not guarantee the right of appeal in all cases.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated to members by email.
